Antique George III Irish Sterling Silver cup and cover by Matthew West, Dublin, 1790. Of shaped, baluster form on a single pedestal foot, the body with twin, acanthus capped, scrolling handles. Body and domed lid both engraved with contemporary bright cut decoration surrounding arms, crest and motto ‘Lento Pede Pauca Pluma’, that of the Pede / Pead family. Height 40cm / 15.75”. Silver weight 1721g / 55.35 troy oz.
