‘Comptabilite 1810.’

Expenditure of the Grand Maitre des Ceremonies for 1810 - the financial records of Napoleon I's ceremonies in 1810. The document is divided into sections, including "Secrétariat", "Déspenses Générales", and "Cérémonies non prévues". It also includes a section titled "Mariage de l'Empereur et Roi" that documents payments made for the wedding of Napoleon I and Marie Louise of Austria at the Tuileries on 2 April 1810.

  1. 64pp., with a document signed by H.-B. Maret, Secretary of State, with printed heading "Extrait des Minutes de la Secretaire d'Etat", from a decree of 21 February 1813, cancelling the unspent items of credit in the budget for the marriage, original half green stained vellum over boards, within a full morocco solander box, gilt, worn at extremities, folio, [1810]

*** The volume contains detailed accounts of how funds were spent for the wedding [136, 626 francs and a further 28,272 francs as a supplementary budget] and to whom they were paid, and includes records of the cost of decorating or refurbishing the hall in which the ceremony took place, the Musee Napoleon, vestibule, stairway, etc.
