HENRY BONE R.A. (BRITISH 1755-1834) Portrait miniature of John Hope, profile facing left, wearing a black coat and white tied cravat Inscribed verso, 'John Hope Esq. London June 1811. Painted by Hy Bone R.A./ Enamel Painter to His Majesty the Prince Regent, after a miniature.' enamel Gilt metal frame, the reverse bearing an inscription on an attached old label with details of the artist and sitter Oval, 73mm high Footnote: The preparatory pen and ink drawing dated 1811, is in the National Portrait Gallery. It was acquired by Sir George Scarf in 1890.  John Hope (b. Feb 14 1737-d. April 20 1784), was a merchant banker, partner in Hope & Co. He married Philippina Barbara vn der Hoeven in 1763
