A George III sterling silver soup tureen, London 1805 by William Bennett
Of rounded rectangular form upon a spreading rectangular foot. The pull off domed lid surmounted by a cast affixed acanthus twin C scroll handle above a rocaille terrace. The shell and acanthus capped twin scroll handles with acanthus junctions. Gadrooned rim. The base and lid engraved with a later crest of a talbot’s head erased. Fully marked to the side and with part-marks to the handles.
