A WOODEN PROCESSIONAL STANDARD FINIAL WITH SUN AND RABBIT
Ottoman Turkey or Western Provinces, 19th century

Of circular shape with scalloped border, polychrome-painted and varnished, mounted on a rounded knob flanked by two vegetal volutes, the central panel painted on one side with an anthropomorphised sun, on the latter with a white rabbit on a crescent, surrounded by two concentric bands with stylised fretwork decoration, surmounted by a vase-shaped finial also flanked by two leafy volutes, 84.8cm long.
