Partially printed Royal Warrant signed by Queen Victoria ("Victoria R.I."), appointing James Knowles to the position of 2nd Lieutenant in the Land Forces, countersigned at foot by Lansdowne, one page, blue papered seal, folding marks with occasional splitting, backed on linen, folio, Our Court at St James's, 20 September 1895; together with a Royal Warrant with stamped signature by George V and an ink signature by Queen Victoria clipped from the top of a document, mounted for display, overall size 28.5 x 20cm.
