A George II sterling silver brandy pan, London 1730 by Elizabeth Goodwin (reg. 2nd Dec 1729)
Of circular form with everted sides and a moulded foot rim. A turned wooden side handled pinned to a silver socket. The front engraved with a contemporaneous crest of issuing from a ducal coronet a garb. Fully marked underneath.
Length – 19.6 cm / 7.75 inches
Weight – 131 grams / 4.21 ozt
The crest is for Whitworth, as borne by the Earls Whitworth and the Baron Whitworth of Galway
