A George III sterling silver entrée dish and cover, London 1802 by Timothy Renou (this mark reg. 2^nd Aug 1800)

Of rectangular form with rounded corners and gadrooned rim, the removable lid with cavetto edge and domed centre surmounted by a detachable reeded scroll and leaf handle, with thread and nut. Each side of lid and interior of base engraved with a crest of a Griffin’s head erased. Fully marked to base, part-marked to lid, the handle and nut unmarked.
