A George III sterling silver entrée dish and cover, London 1802 by Timothy Renou (this mark reg. 2nd Aug 1800)
Of rectangular form with rounded corners and gadrooned rim, the removable lid with cavetto edge and domed centre surmounted by a detachable reeded scroll and leaf handle, with thread and nut. Each side of lid and interior of base engraved with a crest of a Griffin’s head erased. Fully marked to base, part-marked to lid, the handle and nut unmarked.
