Royston, 1662.  *** Authorship of the ‘Eikōn basilikē’ was originally attributed to Charles I, but according to Madan (pp. 126-33) it was written by John Gauden who probably included some authentic writings of the king. ‘A collection of declarations, treaties, and other principal passages concerning the differences betwixt King Charles I and his two houses of Parliament’, edited by William Fulman and Richard Perrinchief (Wing C2157C) has separate dated title page, pagination and register.
