A George V ‘Arts and Crafts’ sterling silver goblet, London 1912 by Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr

Of rounded planished form with a moulded rim, upon a spreading circular foot with an applied circular band foot. The bulbous stem with four chased grotesque masks between tied ribbon, all below a rope twist border. Engraved underneath OMAR RAMSDEN ET ALWYN CARR ME FECERVNT. Fully marked to the rim.

Height – 11 cm / 4.35 inches

Weight – 119 grams / 3.82 ozt

A closely related but slightly lighter goblet of 1906, with a turned over foot with rope twist edge was sold Bonham’s Knightsbridge, 30 Nov 2011, lot 226 (£1,375 incl. premium)
