A George IV sterling silver hot water jug, London 1825 by Richard Atkins and William Somersall overstruck by Edward Edwards II

In the French manner, of baluster form upon a spreading circular foot with reeded edge. The tall, curved spout with an incised edge leading to an incised rim and a wooden scroll handle pinned to junctions, the hinged domed lid with a shaped scroll thumbpiece, all surmounted by a knop finial upon an embossed fluted terrace. The side engraved with a crest of a stag trippant vulned in the back with an arrow. Fully marked underneath and part-marked to the lid.
