A pair of early George III sterling silver candlesticks, London 1760 by Louis Black (reg. 30th July 1756)
The square based with a gadrooned edge leading to a splay fluted centre cornered with acanthus leaves, the central fluted column with an open work cast Corinthian capital, each fitted with a removable square sconce with gadrooned rim. Wood block weighted. Each fully marked to the edge, the sconces with makers mark and lion passant, additionally the sconces and capitals with one or two registration notches respectively. (2)
