A Victorian sterling silver fruit basket, London 1854 by messrs Barnard

Of shaped and lobed circular form upon a lobed circular spreading foot. The edge with an embossed and pierced edge of fruiting vine amidst scolls, the bowl section edged with engraved pendants of foliage. The opposable swing handle embossed as ears of wheat with fruiting vine and scrolls, centred with a rocaille cartouche engraved with a crest of a griffin’s head erased holding a rose. Stamped underneath 615. Fully marked underneath bowl section, part-marked to the handle.
