Albumen prints (109), depicting an array of topographcial views across Tasmania & New Zealand, the first 11 prints in the album attributed to John Watt Beattie (1859 – 1930), with 9 of the 11 bearing his studio credit and title in the negative, related to Tasmania. Each Beattie Hobart view measuring approx. 17 x 23cm, mounted one per page, recto and verso, subjects include: Hobart from the Huon Road; Mount Wellington from Huon; St Raphael's Church, Fern Tree; Fern Tree Bower, Hobart; Track to Silver Falls, Hobart; Russel Falls, Hobart; Tree Cutting & Tree Felling in Hobart; and interesting view of two men sitting at the foot of 'Big Ben', a 250ft-tall gum tree on the estate of Mr WL Glennett, a saw mill proprietor; Pulpit Rock in New Norfolk; and a general view of New Norfolk. The further 98 albumen prints attributed to Burton Brothers, each measuring approx. 14 x 20cm (or the reverse), 88 bearing the Burton Brothers' studio credit, title, and number within the negative. Housed in red morocoo boards, upper cover detached, with binding loss and some detached pages.
