A Queen Anne provincial West Country Britannia standard silver ‘lace back’ trifid spoon, Exeter 1707 by Edward Sweet of Dunster (b.1673-c.1737)
The front of terminal with die struck foliate scrolls and the same to the reverse of the oval shaped bowl with a rat tail heel. Fully marked to stem.
Length – 19.7 cm / 7.75 inches
Weight – 44 grams / 1.4 ozt
This makers mark, SW in a shaped cartouche is recorded in the Exeter minute book in December 1704, “then Mr Edward Sweet of Dunster entered his mark SW”. M.152
