A William IV sterling silver teapot, London 1830 by Edward, Edward junior, John & William Barnard

Of lobed ‘melonized’ from upon a shaped domed foot. The fluted curved spout opposite a fluted C scroll handle fitted with ivory insulators pinned to scroll sockets, the upper with a leaf calyx junction. The everted rim with a hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable cast finial formed as a water lily above a leaf calyx. Fully marked underneath, part-marked to lid, makers mark and lion passant only to finial. Additionally struck underneath with numerals 67 and journeyman’s mark of a X.
