A George III sterling silver quart tankard, London 1784 by Benjamin Mountigue
of tapering cylindrical form with ribbed decoration with perpendicular incised lines to resemble coopering. The notched D section handle with a hinged disc lid raised by an open work chair back thumbpiece. The lid with incised concentric lines. Fully marked (pre-duty) to the right of handle and the lid interior.
Height – 18 cm / 7.1 inches
