A George III sterling silver mustard pot, London 1771 by Burrage Davenport

Of cylindrical drum form, the ribbed C scroll handle leading to a slightly raised disc lid with engraved feathered edge, raised by a scalloped thumbpiece. The body with pierced decoration of quatrefoils within geometric motifs. Cut with a spoon aperture to the base at a right angle to the handle. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner, with a star cut base. Fully marked underneath and with makers mark and lion passant and to the lid.
