A George III sterling silver mustard pot, London 1767 by Augustin Le Sage
Of cylindrical form with a C scroll handle leading to a gently domed disc lid edged with incised concentric circles, all raised by an openwork scroll thumbpiece. The body with pierced diaper work. The lid with engraved initials CE in flourished cursive script, the underside with engraved initials G.W to C.E in Roman script. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Fully marked underneath and part-marked to the lid.
