Autograph letter signed ("Suzanne Blum"), on the Duchess of Windsor's monogrammed stationery, apologising for not "answering sooner your kind letters" and adding that H.R.H. the Duchess is still in the same condition but she can stand the painful situation thanks to the support of her friends, two pages, light creasing, 8vo (21 x 15cm), 4 route du Champ d'Entraînement, Paris, 3 February 1979.

***Letters by the controversial French lawyer Suzanne Blum are scarce on the market. After the Duke of Windsor’s death, she had gained the duchess’ power of attorney and ran her entire life. She reportedly prevented old friends from visiting the Duchess, who spent her final years in complete seclusion in her Paris home. The lawyer had also complete control over every item owned by the duchess and started selling in secret various valuable items that belonged to Wallis.
