A British 1879 pattern sawback sword bayonet for the artillery carbine. Straight, fullered blade of 65cm long, with sawback and various stamps to the ricasso, including manufacture in January 1885, Birmingham and Enfield approval and repair marks, WD and V.R., and re-issue in 1900 and 1901. Blade mostly bright with a little pitting, chequered leather grips quite good and some pitting to the pommel and guard. No scabbard.
