An early 19th century Dutch silver tea caddy, The Hauge (Den Haag) 1800 by Francois Marcus Simons (1750-1823, master 1776)

Cuboidal form with moulded rims, the flat hinged lid raised by a plain thumbpiece, lock mechanism. The body with all over bright cut decoration of quatrefoil lattices. Fully marked underneath, date letter crowed E, the lid unmarked.
