1 Bottle of Chateau Latour 1953 - Reconditioned at the Chateau in 1990
"1953 was the first vintage i remember tasting and thinking it was amazing. Bordeaux was nearly broke after the war and the Château all looked run down with the shutters hanging off. It was the 1959 vintage which the British merchants loved and bought up which started them on a path to prosperity. As a result the wonderful 53s were slightly forgotten. Latour is always a long -liver, and this bottle was given to the French vendor as a present for her birth year. She has kept it carefully in a cold cellar, the colour, ullage and general condition are as good as I have seen."- C.S. Burr MW
