A BURMESE MANDALAY FOLDING PARABAIK MANUSCRIPT OF COURT FIGURES
Burma, Burmese School, 19th Century
The twelve-panelled manuscript, each portraying a courtly figure depicting costumes of the Burmese court at Mandalay, all inscribed below and also in the reverse of the manuscript, likely made at the Court Workshop at the Royal Court at Manadaly, Burma.

This manuscript can be compared to the costumes and textiles housed in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum: IM.45 to B, E, F-1912; IM.43 to D-1912; IM.44 to C, E, G, H-1912 and also various costumes housed in the National Museum of Myanmar.
