Judaica – A Victorian sterling silver torah pointer (yad), London 1895 by JM, probably Joseph Maxfield (reg. 19^th Feb 1892)

Tapering octagonal form, screw fitted hand terminal, bulbous end with lion terminal, with ring attachment and suspension chain. Engraved decoration to body and in Hebrew reading זנר הירש ליב קין בןרחיים הלוי (Zener Hirsch Leib Cain Ben-Rehaim Halevi) and זנר אהרן מאיר ערינם בן רעקב זאב (Zener Aaron Meir their son of Raacov Zev). Fully marked to side, and part-marked to hand.

Another mark register at this is Joesph Maizels (reg. 4^th June 1894), who appears to be a watch maker.
