A TIBETAN THANGKA OF VAIROCANA WITH CONSORT.
Tibet, 19th Century or earlier.
Tempera on canvas, seated in a yab-yum with his consort, his other manifestations, guardians and lamas surrounding the main image, a vision of hell awash in purifying flames beneath his throne, mounted as a hanging scroll, 62 x 40cm.
Provenance: Property from a Private English Collection, predominantly assembled in the 1970s and 1980s.
