AN ENGRAVED BRASS QUR'ANIC BOOK WITH MATCHING CASE

Of rectangular, upright format, the five flat sheets of brass engraved in Arabic with Suras al-Fatiha (1), Yasin (36), and the Throne Verse (al-Baqara, 2:255-257), the end pages with charts containing the names of Allah, the covers with lobed floral designs in the centre and corners, the front cover with the verses’ titles, held by plain brass hinges and spine, encased in a horizontally hinged brass case, the folio 8.8cm x 7.4cm, the case 11cm x 6.3cm including hinge.
