A George III sterling silver vinaigrette, London 1799 by Thomas Brough (reg. Oct 1795)
Of elongated octagonal form, the hinged lid centred with a vacant circular cartouche reserved with a stipulated ground, edged with a plain band, the obverse with an engraved rosette with foliage. The gilt interior with a hinged drill pierced grill. Part-marked to base and lid, the grill unmarked. Together with a Victorian vinaigrette, Birmingham 1840 by Edward Smith, rectangular form with the lid engraved foliage, the gilt interior with a pierced and engraved grill of foliate scrolls. Part-marked to base and lid, the grill unmarked. (2)
