A William IV sterling silver wine ewer, London 1833 by Charles Riley and George Storer
Of tall, inverted baluster form upon a shaped circular foot, the body with a handle formed a two twisted vine branches leading to a central detacable pin fitted band of fruiting vine, a fruiting vine rim to the everted pouring lip, the underside of which a cast and applied acanthus leaf. The cast base formed as acanthus leaves and flowers, adjoining the body with acanthus leaves. The front with an infilled inscription partially reading “To John Savory, his friend and partner, Thomas Moore (…) November 1844” Gilt interior. Fully marked underneath pouring lip.
