An early George III Irish sterling silver marrow scoop, Dublin circa 1760 by John Laughlin Senior
Of conventional form with a double drop heel. The larger bowl engraved with a crest of a cubit arm erect vested, cuffed, holding in the hand a bunch of marigolds(?). Marked to stem, no date letter.
Length – 20.2 cm / 8 inches
Weight – 37 grams / 1.19 ozt
The crest is for Yon or possibly for Gifford, Baronet of Castle Jordan, co. Meath, Ireland
