Opaque pigments heightened with gold and silver on wove paper, the vertical composition depicting an encampment scene with a group of merry soldiers and courtiers being entertained by female dancers in the front and background, a haloed queen seated on a golden throne and wearing a golden robe in the middle ground, portrayed in conversation with two Rajput noblemen in a high-class outfit and a third man barely dressed, possibly an ascetic covered in ashes, next to the gold-embroidered tent an attendant filling up jars with fresh liquid, the scene set within yellow and white rules, and silver and bright red borders, 30.8cm x 23.5cm.
