Very interesting anonymous manuscript letter partly written in an alphanumeric code deciphered into plain text, providing confidential information on the the Roman curia, such as: the irritation of Pope Innocent X for the rumors on the excessive influence of Donna Olimpia Maidalchini; the appointment of Cardinal Bichi (Alessandro Bichi), as "superintendent of the assembly of the French clergy"; the accounting irregularities attributed to cardinal Gabrielli; the dispatch closes with some other confidential information of a political-military nature, on the movements of Venetian and Malta ships that left Corfu and Zakynthos to fight against the Turks, and on the intention to "change the Inquisition of Malta", four pages, age-related toning, some creasing, loss to upper left corner not affecting text, 4to, Rome, 4 December 1645
