A George IV sterling silver seven bar toast rack, Sheffield 1820 by Thomas & John Settle (reg. June 1815)
The shaped oblong base section raised in four paw and scallop shell scroll feet, the base with cast decoration of rocaille scrolls and flower heads. The loop bars with die-rolled decoration of lozenges centred with rosettes, with a central carrying handle of twin acanthus scrolls, engraved to one side with a crest of a demi-griffin segregant. Fully marked to central base bar, stamped incuse numerals 42 underneath.
