Roberts (Field Marshall)

Letter signed ('Roberts') addressed to Mrs MacAndrew, in secretarial hand, reading in part "Your son has been sent here from India on special service, and he has arrived here looking well. I will take care that he is employed where he may have an opportunity of doing good service. Please give my love to Douglas. I am very glad to hear how bright and cheery he is at his great age", three pages, folding mark, 4to, Cape Town, 1 February 1900, with original mailing envelope.
