Shin Sang-ho is a Seoul- born ceramicist, a graduate and professor emeritus of Ceramics and Glass at Hongik University and a director at the Clayarch Gimhae Museum. His works are inspired by the traditional wares from Koryo and Choson periods, although after a bief period of serving as a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Arts in the 1990s he found inspiration in African art and design, incorporating foreign elements into his work. He is widely exhibited internationally and his works feature in the major Asian and Western museum collections.
