An early 20th century Iraqi silver and niello coffee pot, Omara circa 1930 signed Barakat
Of rounded baluster form upon three wrought feet, the curved spout opposite a C scroll handle, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a double conical knop finial. The body with a finely nielloed scene depicting the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon), palm trees and camels with riders and walkers, two mudif, a dhow sailing boat and the Abu Hanifa al in Nu'man, Baghdad, all above the initials TLR in gothic script cypher. The lid with a similar scene including boatmen in gufa, and fishermen in a mashoof. Signed to the front Amal’e Barakat.
