A George I Britannia standard silver pepper caster, London 1722 by Samuel Welder (first reg. 4th Aug 1714)

Of octagonal baluster form upon an octagonal foot, the pull off octagonal domed lid surmounted by an octagonal knop finial. The lid with saw cut pierced decoration of scroll forms. Engraved underneath foot with contemporaneous initials C over T E in Roman script. Fully marked underneath, part-marked to lid bezel.
