CROATIAN NAVAL LEGION BADGE, type II of white metal construction with white and red enamel detailing, with 'HRVATSKA POMORSKA LEGIJA' surrounding the fouled anchor and floral swag decoration, with 1944 picked out on the enamelled anchor, a later war example.

Note: Badge was introduced in 1942 and was worn by the members of Croatian Naval Legion. Croatian Naval Legion was involved in the Eastern (Russian) front as part of the German Naval group 'Unterseebootjagerflotille 23' at the Black Sea during 1942-43. Legion’s commander was Andro Vrkljan, and duties of the Legion included escort, minesweeping and alike. Badge was awarded after 2 months of active service
