A CIRCULAR PAPIER-MÂCHÉ SNUFF BOX WITH BYRON LEAVING FOR HIS FIRST TRIP TO GREECE Probably Germany, c.1830 The box of circular form with waisted sides, the pull-off cover painted with a portrait of Lord Byron at the age of nineteen during his first trip to Greece, indistinctly inscribed underneath 'Lord Bryon (…) 19 (…)' after the painting of Byron and his servant Robert Rushton by George Sanders (1774-1846), the engraving of which was published on the 6th November 1830, diam. 9.5cm.
