A suite of three George V sterling silver replica baskets, London 1926 by Carrington and Co

Comprising a larger example and a pair of smaller. In the Charles I style, each of tapering circular form upon a spreading open work foot with rope twist rims. The sides with embossed decoration of winged masks with pierced and flat chased eagles head as well as foliate scrolls, all below a band of pierced quatrefoil roundels. Each fully marked. (3)

Larger diameter – 26.8 cm / 10.55 inches

Smaller diameter – 21 cm / 8.25 inches

Weight – 2426 grams / 78 ozt

Based on the basket of 1641 by PG now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (68.141.60). Illustrated: Hackenbroch, Y., (1963) English and Other Silver in the Irwin Untermyer Collection, New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art, plate 34.
