Arabic manuscript on delicately tinted paper in a variety of pastel shades, 86ff. plus four fly leaves, each folio with 11ll. of fine black ink naskh script, multi-coloured tissue paper between the folios, the opening folio with fine gold and polychrome illumination, a number of other illuminations throughout, in the middle of the manuscript a double page with polychrome-painted and gilt aerial views of Mecca and Medina, the holy sites of Islam, gold and red verse markers, some diacritic marks in red, catchwords, the text within burnished gold rules, in marbled end papers, set in a gold-tooled and stamped dark red morocco flapped binding, the text panel 12cm x 7cm, the folio 19cm x 12.2cm.
