A William IV sterling silver snuff box, Birmingham 1834 by Nathaniel Mills

Of rectangular form with waisted engine turned sides, the hinged lid with chased foliate rim, the inner section chased the same. The top of the lid engraved with an inscription reading “Presented to Doctor Armstrong as a mark of the esteem and regard of his friend Doctor Tedlie.” the underside engraved “for his professional attention to the sick of the 25th Regiment King’s Own Borderers while stationed in Armagh 1835”. Gilt interior. Fully marked between the base and lid.
