Charles the son of Henry Home-Drummond, 7th of Blair Drummond (1783 – 1867) who married on 14^th April 1812, Christian Moray (1779-1864), daughter and heiress of Col. Charles Moray of Abercairny, Perth (d.1810) and Anne Stirling (1761-1820) daughter and co-heir of Sir William Stirling, 4th Bart. of Ardoch (1729-1799).
