Adolphe Sax was born in Belgium in 1814, the son of a producer of musical instruments and official supplier of the Belgian Military Band. Inspired by his father, Adolphe's own passion for music led to his developing the concept of the Saxophone in 1838.

Sax gaver his name to four families of musical instruments, the Saxhorns, Saxotrombas, Saxtubas as well as the famous Saxophones.
