A mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) silver cigarette or confectionary box, Isfahan circa 1950 mark of Reza, retailed by Ja'Fari

Pahlavi dynasty, of square form with a hinged lid with cavetto edge, all raised on four short bracket feet. The lid with engraved ghalam zani decoration of a central circular medallion within a twelve-pointed cartouche infilled with arabesques, all reserved with peonies flanked by long tailed birds, lattice work panels and vignettes with peonies, all edge by an interlaced guilloche band. The side with engraved band of peonies interspaced with arabesque vignettes. Marked to inside of lid only with standard mark (۸۴), and workshop mark رضا and retailer’s mark جعفری
