Safavid Iran, 17th - 18th century
Comprising two bottles and three vases, the two bottles of pyriform shape and the three vases of compressed globular shape, each resting on a short circular foot, all painted in bold reddish-brown copper lustre against white ground, each decorated with bands of various vegetal and floral motifs, the tallest 19cm, the shortest 9.9cm.
Provenance (two bottles): Christie’s South Kensington (London), 26 October 1995, lot 413 and lot 408.
