A TIMURID-STYLE BLUE AND WHITE POTTERY FLOWER VESSEL
Iran, 19th century
Of compressed globular shape, resting on a raised circular foot, with a reinforced slightly everted rim, the interior divided in seven rounded hollow niches, probably once filled with soil and flowers, the exterior of the white stonepaste body decorated with two Chinese-inspired cobalt blue cloud bands and stylised vegetal sprays in the middle, the interior covered with a light turquoise glaze, 19.5cm diam. and 9cm high.
