TWO INDIAN ENGRAVED BRASS OIL LAMP FINIALS IN THE SHAPE OF HAMSA DUCKS
Possibly Deccan or Southern India, 18th - 19th century
Comprising two zoomorphic oil lamp finials, each of different size and typical design, the bodies of the hamsa ducks engraved with rounded, hatched, and crescent-shaped patterns representing the birds’ plumage, and characterised by voluminous tails and breaths of fire coming out from their beaks, the smaller example resting on a slightly raised rectangular pedestal, 13cm high; the larger example approximately 16cm high.
Dimensions: the tallest approximately 16cm high
