Crippen (Hawley Harvey)
Typed letter signed ('H.H. Crippen'), in German, on 'The Aural Institute' headed paper, translation reads in part "For many years I have devoted myself specifically to the study of ear diseases and I can say without being presumptuous that I have achieved a great success in this direction. Many years of experience have enabled me to make an accurate diagnosis of the cases submitted to me"; Crippen urges the recipient "to fill out the enclosed questionnaire and send it back to me immediately. I will give you my opinion on your condition straight away. Do not forget, it doesn't cost you anything and doesn't commit you in any way. Since I have devoted myself to this particular branch of medical science, I have always had the warmest sympathy towards all hearing impaired people", two pages, folding-marks, minor age-related toning, 4to, Craven House, London, 8 February 1910.
