A PAIR OF SILVER-INLAID FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOLS (KUBUR)
Ottoman Provinces, mid to late 19th century
Each of typical shape, with a smooth steel barrel and a compressed bulbous butt, the steel locks engraved with vegetal motifs, the wooden handles and stocks fully inlaid in silver with spiral motif, on the top of one handle an almond-shaped silver plaque with beading and a rosette in the centre, the latter missing, both barrels stamped with Arabic numerals (64?) opposite the locks, each 48.5cm long.
